Beseme Havanese

Charlene Stoutsenberger

It all started with one in 1991! I love this breed! They are the most loving, intelligent and entertaining breed alive. I use the name "beseme" because all of my dogs are great kissers and wonderful lap warmers. My puppies are raised in my home (check out my webcam) and socialized with lots of grandchildren and friends. They make wonderful therapy dogs as they truly love to be with people and are very sensitive to the needs of those around them. Once you've had a Havanese, there will not be another breed for you. All of my dogs are fully health tested and certified by OFFA (BAER, eyes, patellas, hips, elbows, thyroid, heart) with additional testing done like bile acids and liver enzymes to ensure complete health before and after breeding. My dogs are also AKC conformation champions from a long line of champions. Some have top performance champions in their lines too and some of my puppies would make great agility dogs too. I have started rally obedience with most of my dogs and they learn very easily and quickly and never forget a trick, even years later. My Havanese are on the small end of the standard so that you can easily take them with you just about anywhere. The puppies learn to use a doggy door (weather permitting) and a Potty Park with crate training started, BAER tested, microchipped and shots prior to leaving. I never ship puppies as I want to meet the new hu-mom or hu-dad and I want them to meet me and at least the mom to the puppies. Some families have made a ski vacation or summer vacation out of it when they come to get their puppy. The puppies will bring home a crate pad that they and their littermates have used, toys, and all kinds of instructions and help from me. I will ask you to fill out a questionnaire and then we can talk about what you are looking for in a puppy so that we can decide if a puppy is right for you (and, if so, which one). I had never shown dogs before I got my second Havanese, but once I showed Kizzy to her championship totally owner-handled, I was hooked! Once I have time, I will start Karli and Nelson in agility. That will be way too much fun!!!

We proudly breed, raise and show our Havanese to maintain the quality and excellence of the standard. All of our Havanese have their health certifications with updates yearly as needed. Gracie is our latest Champion with Abbey just beginning her show career. We plan on mating Gracie in the spring to another quality male Champion and hope to have puppies available late summer. If you are interested in a puppy please contact me at 802-748-5673. I LOVE to talk about the breed. Even if you are just fact finding and not sure if you want a Havanese maybe I can help.

South Texas Havanese

Terri Toporcer

We are a small, family-run Havanese breeder. Carolyn, the mom, lives near Phoenix, Arizona, and Terri, the daughter, lives near San Antonio, Texas. We specialize in raising loving, beautiful, intelligent, very social babies who are under our feet from birth! Our Havanese are family members, are born in our homes, sleep in our bed rooms, and have the run of our back yards. Our daddies, Cheese in Texas, is champion sired, and Moeka in Arizona is Cheese's son. Our mommies, Ginger, Carma, and (soon) Holly are a very colorful bunch in Texas; Lottie and Abbie in Arizona and dark beauties being black and dark chocolate.

We are not a "puppy mill". We breed only Havanese; there are no multi-breed, "cross your fingers for the best qualities" puppies produced here! All our babies find homes, usually withing days of birth. We have never, and will never, turn pups over to a rescue group because they are born with the wrong hair or they are too big. There is a lot of research that has gone into and onto our website. You will find information on coloring, hair (not fur) textures and the many tests that some people recommend. There is an entire page covering the history of the breed and how excited you should be to find a breeder that actually searches for non-related dogs to breed, instead of the line-breeding done by the big mills or show breeders trying to encourage certain size, color, or other arbitrary qualities. We breed for health, happiness, and longevity; the things our pets most truly exhibit when the breed's strength is held true.

We encourage your personal visits, DO NOT SHIP our babies (as if they were cargo!), and only allow our little ones to go home with families who plan to love them as much as we do! Stop by our website, and see if your little love is already in one of our nurseries. If not, look at our former litters, and if you are serious about succumbing to the loving intelligence that is a Havanese, we can put you on one of our lists for the next litters of little loves! Contact us any time with any questions, for advice, or just to chat about our little loves-we look forward to hearing from you!
